Viveka Vikasa – Teacher Enrichment Programs Report – May 2018

Teachers Enrichment Workshop – “Prerana” – A journey from teacher to guru

Through the ages, a “Guru” has played a very significant role in the Indian society. Guru’s exemplary life and knowledge has transformed many lives, thus safeguarding the personal and social values.

In the modern context, it has become imperative for a teacher to elevate to the role of a Guru. A teacher is looked upon as a role model, who carries great responsibility in moulding young lives.

Aim of the program is to realize teachers :

  • as a custodian of values
  • to influence the student’s mindset
  • to create future leaders
  • as a transformer of a nation

The Teachers Enrichment workshops were conducted in 7 schools reaching over 280 teachers in the month of May 2018. The workshop had a major impact on teachers as evidenced in their honest feedback. Many teachers resolved to become role model teachers to their students and said they would try to inculcate values along with the subjects for the holistic development of students.
